Before you read this know that I will not be bashing anyone and please keep your comments positive. Now we shall move on!
OK, I voted for McCain. BUT... Obama is now my president. This was my very first time voting. I am 32 years old and I finally realized the importance of my vote. Some might say that it doesn't matter if they vote or that one vote will not make a difference. Well, my thoughts are that if we go and vote then we can say that we did our part. So I did my part.
I have to honestly say that when I first realized that Obama won, I was sad and had some mixed emotions. But I have been taught by my pastors that WHOEVER our president is we are to support and pray for them. That is our job as Christians. I trust God and I believe that if it weren't God's will for this man to be our president then he wouldn't be. Too much prayer went into this election. And I believe that when we pray, God hears us. And my prayers were for the right man to be in office, not who I wanted to get it.
So in closing this post, I want to say, please pray for President Obama and support him. He has a tough job ahead of him and he needs our support. And I believe that God EXPECTS us to do this!

Amen, Michelle! I am praying for him that he would be in tune to God's will for our country. I think regardless of our personal politics we need to pray for those in leadership.
Good thoughts, Michelle and my sentiment exactly. I too voted for McCain and did not want to see Obama win and have been praying about the election but began to pray that God would put the man in office that He wanted to be there and that His Will would be done here on earth as well as in heaven.
When I first realized that Obama had won, I woke up very depressed but then told myself that God is in control and that Obama as my president needed my prayers and that I was going to respect him and pray for him. So our thoughts are very much alike in this matter.
Love,
Dianne

I agree Michelle. I posted about this today too. God knows what is best for us.
Hugs,
Elizabeth
Amen!!
I have been feeling the same way. Obama needs prayer as does all the elected people in our government.
Amen!! We most definitely need to pray for him. We need to pray that America will turn back to God and we need to be diligent in spreading the Gospel...even if it comes down to being persecuted for it. (scary thought, though)
Have a blessed weekend!!

Very good post! Thanks!
Well, I can't really comment being British, but I do know that God is the ultimate power and He is in charge, thank goodness! Wherever we are in the world, and whoever is in charge of running our country, God has the final word. Praise the Lord!
Amen sista! I think it is awesome that we had some amazing teaching on all of this in the past few weeks, it really helped us mentally and spiritually to prepare for what was ahead, I believe. I had someone ask me the same thing this past Monday at work, they wanted to know how I felt about the outcome of the election. I told them that the way I felt was that Obama had won, and that he had my full support now, and that we should pray for him. She said she felt the same way. We definitely need to lift him up. Love you friend,
Aprille :0)
