Back to the Basics....

Good Friday morning all! It has been a while.

Since my aunt passed away things have been quite crazy around here. We had TONS of family in from California and my house was sort of a base for people to shower and sleep. I ended up not being able to make it to the service Monday night because Jacob came down with strep throat. He was SO sick! By the time we got back from the doctor and I got back with his medicine it was 4:30 and the service started at 5:00 about an hour and 15 minutes away. We did enjoy seeing all of our family though. Some of them I haven't seen since 1994. And some of them had never met my children, so it was nice to see them all.

So all of this brings me to needing to get back to the basics. My home has been in such chaos that I have had no schedule at all! Amber was begging to do school yesterday because it has been so long since I have done any with her. So Monday is the day to get back on track! New week, new schedule, new way of thinking!

On a better note, Jacob has kept up with his school and not gotten behind. I got his school stuff and Amber's kindergarten stuff ordered for the Fall. We got our income tax and I always do that first thing. That way I have it in the Fall and we are ready to go! This next year will be different though with Amber doing school every day. I am going to have to stay on top of things better than I have in the past. And she is ready! She is so excited about starting school. And I am so glad that she is! LOL It makes it easier on me.

I also paid off my stove that I had to get a few months ago. That was nice. And I got a new microwave that goes over my stove. My old one was VERY old and started getting mold in it. So it had to go! Now this weekend we are planning on going van shopping! Please pray that we make the right choice and get the right one. We want God's will on this one.

Well, I guess I am gonna go for now. Here are some before and after pictures of my microwave. Just keep in mind that I have flat paint until my hubby repaints, so there are lots of grease spots on my wall, it looks so gross! Sorry.
Have a great weekend!!!
I was so proud of my hubby, he had to do electrical work and everything!!!
There used to be a vent hood in the empty space right under the cabinet, I didn't think of my camera until we already had it down.

Our story......

In 1996 a man named George Bingham called me and asked if I would like to go out with him. Let's rewind a little.... Years before this my brother, Daniel, worked with George and told me that if George didn't have a girlfriend he would fix us up. Well, I worked at Target in 1996 with a woman whose husband worked with George. She said that George had recently ended a long relationship he had been in and she thought we would be a good couple. So she gave him my number. And now we are back to the beginning of the story.

We met in July of 1996, he met me at Target when I got off of work. We went to a movie and then to Arby's to eat. I had no idea that day that my life was gonna change so quickly. By October he asked me to marry him. And In January of 1997 I became Mrs. George Bingham! Yes that is 6 months after we met.

The funny thing about this is that most people that knew me though I had lost my mind. But it is now 12 years later and we are happier than I could have ever imagined! I love this man with my whole heart, soul and mind.

I am posting a few pictures for you to see.

This picture is from the day that George asked me to marry him. I was SO excited and happy that God had finally sent me "the one".

This picture is from our wedding day. Aprille from Clay In The Hands Of The Potter was my maid of honor. And my brother Daniel was George's best man.

And this is the most recent picture of my love and I. 12 years later!
I LOVE YOU HONEY!!!!

A Father's Love

(If you are just now joining us we are going through memories for Jacob's birthday, go to the post titled "BLAST from the Past" to see the beginning of this)

Well, Jacob's birthday is tomorrow and we have a lot to do in the morning so I am going to be posting 2 times tonight. I know it is a lot to take in but I probably will not be posting for most of the weekend so you will get a break from me. LOL!

This post is dedicated to Jacob and his Daddy. I usually post a lot of pictures of me and the kids so you won't be seeing many of me with Jacob in these posts. I don't get to post many of George with him so I thought this was fitting. And the fact that Jacob thinks his daddy hung the moon!

Here are some pictures through the years of the two of them.

ENJOY!

Such a good Daddy! Helping the little man ride the cow, how CUTE!

Hunting Easter eggs, Jacob has always loved to do this and his daddy and Paw-Paw were usually the ones to help him!

Jacob's very first fish he ever caught! He was casting that little rod and reel in my house from the time he could stand up! LOL

My silly husband

I wanted to share a few picures of my hubby.

He decided to cut his hair last night and he has always wanted a mohawk. I had a roll of film with a few pictures left on it that I wanted to get developed so I decided to take some pictures. He cut his hair into a mohawk and then after the pictures he went ahead and shaved it all off. I think he is REALLY handsome when his hair is buzzed the shortest and his face is clean shaven. He is a little worried that his little bald spots make him look old but I think he is really handsome and young looking.

If you know my husband you know he is usually really quiet until he gets to know someone. This post shows his silly side that we here at home see most of the time.

This is a side view, notice Nathan in the background. I think we have figured out where Nate's curls come from. When I put mousse on George's hair it curled up like Nathan's does.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I dared him to make a crazy face. Usually the kids and I are the only ones who get to see these faces, you all are lucky! LOL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are what we call his scary eyes. Or his mean eyes. And it is so funny because Amber used to give me these eyes all the time. She really does look just like her daddy at times!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This one is the after shot. Even though he looks like he is a deer caught in headlights.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here is my handsome, somewhat normal hubby. Welcome to our world!
